RECYCLING for residents across the borough is set to become even easier from next month.
From 4 March, Hinckley and Bosworth residents can recycle a host of common items including carrier bags, cling film, plastic film, bubble wrap, books, crisp tubes and egg boxes alongside other plastics, paper, cardboard glass and cans in their blue lidded recycling bin.

The Borough Council will increase its council tax charge for 2019/20 by a little under four per cent - following a decision of the full council at its budget-setting meeting on Thursday (21 February 2019).
This means the average Band D council tax (including the Special Expense Area) for the Borough Council will increase by £5, resulting in a charge of £132.09 for the year.

A DECORATIVE water pump has been unveiled in the village as part of the parish commemorations of the end of the First World War.
The pump, together with a small information board, has been installed in a planter opposite St Catherine's Church, close to the site of a working pump which served the village until the early 20th century.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is to be made for the following location: Tilton Road, Burbage (see attached plan). The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Weston Power Distribution to facilitate new connection work.
The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.
The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of 1 day commencing on the 25th March 2019.

The Borough Council is phasing in new ticket machines at its pay-and-display car parks across Hinckley town centre.
New machines are being installed in the Leisure Centre, St Mary's Road and Church Walk car parks this month with others introduced gradually over the new few months.
