Burbage Scarecrow Festival

Burbage Scarecrow Festival

Grove Road Schools' PTFA is organising a Scarecrow Festival to be held around the village from May 4 to 6.

Villagers are invited to make a scarecrow to put in their front garden, business or community space, based on a children's book character.

By filling in an entry form (£5 per entry) scarecrows will be included in a festival guide which members of the public will use to help find the different characters and to vote for their favourite.

The most popular scarecrow will win its makers a cash prize.

Entry forms are available from Burbage Infant School, Burbage Junior School, Burbage SPAR on Lutterworth Road, Burbage Co-op on Boyslade Road, and Hinckley News on Hinckley Road, opposite St Catherine's Church.

The deadline for entries is April 8 and the deadline for voting will be Monday May 6.

Festival guides will be on sale for £3 from the same outlets as the entry forms, with the festival running from 9am on Saturday May 4 until 4pm on Monday May 6.

All proceeds will go to supporting Burbage Infant School and Burbage Junior School.
