New play plans for Colts Close recreation ground

Regular users of and people living near to Colts Close recreation ground are to be invited to tell the Parish Council what extra attractions they would like to see on the site.

David Wilson Homes, which developed land off Three Pots Road, is obliged to make financial contributions towards facilities for people living in the area and the Parish Council is expected to receive £28,034 for an equipped children's play area, £12,490 for formal open space provision and £3,574 for informal children's play space.

Hastings High School pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 who completed a recent survey indicated their top choices as being a skate park, a BMX track and a zip wire. Other suggestions being considered are an outdoor gym and marked cycle/scooter paths.

The Parish Council is to investigate costings before putting potential options to nearby residents and recreation ground users, to see which would be most popular.

Letters will be sent to all households in the immediate vicinity as well as on the new development and people will also be able to make their views known online.
