Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange

Burbage Parish Council would like to thank all those who braved the weather and came to the Millennium Hall on Monday evening to join us in discussions regards the proposed rail freight terminal on the edge of Burbage Common and Woods.

The Parish Council has established a working group of councillors to consider how best to investigate and identify the issues which would impact Burbage residents. The group wanted to arrange the drop in session to achieve the following key objectives;

• Raise general awareness of the proposals

• Identify likely issues of concern

• Listen to other issues and concerns

• Explain the lengthy nature of the National Planning Regime

The councillor group designed a questionnaire to help further these aims and to check that the Parish Council's objections to the plans reflect the views of residents. We will be receiving questionnaires for a few more days, until Tuesday 8 Oct 2019. We will then review all of the responses to inform our next steps. Over the coming months please continue to send in any concerns or comments via the Parish office.
