The ever popular Mallory Mile returned on Monday (17 June) to the Mallory Park Circuit in Kirkby Mallory as part of local celebrations for National Bike Week.

Families gather for traditional sports day

FAMILIES GATHERED in Argents Mead on Saturday (15 June) to enjoy a Traditional sports day and take part in some of the popular school games they may have enjoyed growing up.

Fundrasing fashion show is a sell-out

Fundrasing fashion show is a sell-out

A sell-out fundraising fashion show held in Burbage Millennium Hall raised £1,762 for YoungDementiaUK.

The event, staged by Love Labels Fashion Shows, was organised by Burbage resident Christine Reddall, whose daughter Anna died aged 42 in 2017 after being diagnosed with a rare form of young dementia in 2012.

Mrs Reddall has said "a huge thank you" to everyone who supported the cause.

Mallory Mile event tonight postponed

Unfortunately, due to the forecast of heavy rain for this evening, for the first time in 18 years we have reluctantly made the decision to postpone the Mallory Mile to next Monday 17th June. All times remain the same, that is from 6pm until 8pm.

Lychgate Lane closed for work June 13

Lychgate Lane, Burbage, is to be closed to allow Leicestershire County Council to carry out road surfacing and associated works on Thursday June 13 and possibly Friday June 14, between 8am and 5pm each day.

Access to Burbage Cemetery during these times will be via Aston Flamville.

Residents will be given access to their properties at all times.

Road closures for Burbage Carnvial June 23

Burbage Carnival is to be held a week later than usual, on Sunday June 23.

The Parish Council has donated £500 towards the event insurance, covered the cost of the required road closures and will be offering facilities and staff support on the day.

Windsor Street will be closed from 10.30am for floats to assemble ready for judging at 11.30am.

Wide load through Church Street June 13

On Thursday 13th June 2019 a high and wide load will be travelling through Burbage towards the A5.

The load will be under a Police escort and travelling between 1pm and 2pm.

Police are asking for Church Street to be kept clear of parked vehicles during this time, to allow the load to travel through safely.
