New mental health inpatient unit in Leicester for young people gets the go ahead

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) is delighted to have secured final approval from the Department of Health for its plans to build a new 15-bed mental health inpatient facility for children and young people on the Glenfield Hospital site.

Police beat surgery tomorrow

Just a reminder that Burbage beat surgery will be held on Tuesday 16th April from 3pm – 5pm at the Co-op on Boyslade Road, Burbage.

Hinckley police commander Inspector Emma Maxwell will be there, along with Burbage PCSO Darren Stretton and Burbage community bear.

There will also be free crime prevention advice and security products for sale.

Walks for well-being

Walking for well-being is being encouraged by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council.

A seasonal programme of six rambles has been arranged to cover different parts of the borough between May and October.

It is being organised as part of the Changing Minds initiative, a multi-agency network promoting positive mental health.

Police Inspector to call in to the Co-op

Hinckley police Inspector Emma Maxwell will be dropping in to the Co-op on Boyslade Road on Tuesday April 16 between 3pm and 5pm, where she will be on hand to talk to parishioners about crime concerns and crime prevention.

Inspector Maxwell, who is commander of the Hinckley and Blaby policing area, will be joining Burbage PCSO Darren Stretton (pictured) at the beat surgery in the village store.

The Royal British Legion launches Burbage branch

The Royal British Legion launches Burbage branch

Burbage now has its own, independent branch of The Royal British Legion.

Previously operating as a sub-group of the Hinckley branch, the new group will meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in function room of The Red Lion pub on Windsor Street, which is being let free-of-charge for the cause.
