Lloyds Bank Foundation has announced new funding for small and local charities helping people overcome complex social issues and recover beyond the immediate COVID-19 crisis.
Charities can apply for a two-year unrestricted grant of
£50,000 from Monday 3 August at 10am.

Neighbourhood Watch has launched its first Impact Survey to find out how the scheme is working in communities and to identify concerns surrounding crime, fear of crime and the increase in neighbourliness and community spirit.
The survey is open to all members of the public, not just Neighbourhood Watch supporters and members, and it doesn't matter if you are part of Neighbourhood Watch or not.

We have had no more reports of vehicle theft or theft from vans since our last neighbourhood alert but we have received one report from the Hinckley road area of theft of number plate. Please ensure you report this as these plates may be used in crime at a later date. Also remember you can use anti-theft screws to reduce the chances of your plates being taken. Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on Brookside from the junction with Burbage Road to the junction with Rugby Road, Burbage from 15th August 2020 for 4 days.
The works will be carried out on two consecutive weekends, 15th/16th and 22nd/23rd August and the road will be open Monday to Friday.

I'm towards the end of my week on 24/7 call for the force. As ever, it allows me to see the massive commitment to local communities from our officers and staff. Sadly I've had to reach out to a number of colleagues this week who have been injured whilst trying to keep people safe.

Burbage play areas have been opened again from Friday 17th July 2020 after many weeks of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The outdoor gym equipment at Brookside Recreation Ground is now also open.
The outdoor gym equipment at Colts Close is still under construction and must remain closed at this time. Once work has been completed it will be commissioned, sanitised and opened for use.

Following the recent announcement that indoor gyms and leisure centres can reopen, the Borough Council is delighted to announce that Hinckley Leisure Centre plans to open its doors on Monday 3 August in a phased return.
The reopening will happen over three phases, across three weeks, with measures in place to keep visitors and staff safe.
