Cllr Danny Findlay has been elected Chairman of the Parish Council for 2022-23.

The Liberal Democrat Parish representative for Sketchley ward was presented with the chain of office from outgoing Chairman Cllr Keith Lynch, pictured right, at the Annual Parish Council meeting on May 9.

Cllr Findlay said: "It is a privilege to have taken over as Chairman of the Council for the forthcoming year and I'd like to put my thanks on record to the outgoing Chairman Cllr Keith Lynch for his tremendous contributions.

"The Council has an exciting year ahead, starting with events to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and I look forward to updating residents on the fantastic work we do in the coming weeks and months."

Information on Council projects, plans, meetings and events can be found in its monthly newsletters which appear in the centre pages of The Local Rock villages editions, online and across the Council's social media platforms.

Cllr Findlay also serves as a Borough Councillor for Burbage Sketchley & Stretton ward and is vice chairman of the Borough Council's Planning Committee.
